Learning Systems
Created and managed a robust learning system (including program and instructional design, technology, promotion, and assessment) for more than 44,000 potential learners with over 15,000 engagements over a five year period.

Assessment
Led a college department’s course-level assessment: modified outcomes, created standard final, created rubrics, led norming sessions, educated department faculty, led scoring sessions and completed assessment project reports.
Leader in balanced student assessment systems, with an emphasis on formative assessment for learning and statewide summative assessment systems. Led a multi-year, state-wide cohort to improve formative assessment in K-12 classrooms. Designed and launched multi-part train the trainer modules for formative student assessment, and led instructional design for graduate courses in formative student assessment. Provided key thought partnership for state-level assessment policy. Wrote legislation to mandate a state-wide inventory of district level interim assessments, and helped create the inventory tool.
Policy
Coordinated strategies to pass several bills through the Oregon Legislature including the Student Success Act of 2019 and HB 2656 in 2023.

Successfully moved legislative concepts through the state Legislative system including bill drafting, preparing and delivering testimony at hearings, amendments, coalition building, and final votes to pass bills.

Review, revise and create administrative rules related to new programs or to improve programs including stewarding the rules through approval by the relevant body.

Led implementation plans to move policy into practice for key Oregon initiatives including the Student Success Act, Oregon’s student assessment system, and Oregon’s educator evaluation system.

Developed and implemented trauma-informed review processes to improve internal policies that support student outcomes including policies related to attendance, testing and assessment, and discipline.

Designed and implemented a teacher evaluation program and policies.

Create standard operating procedures for internal operations including event planning and a full-scale member learning system.
Leadership Development
Launched a teacher leadership program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education’s Teach to Lead initiative.
Created a facilitator development program to recruit, onboard, train, and coach facilitators. This included best practices and expectations of facilitators, a facilitator course, a self-assessment to use with new facilitators, and an evaluation process. Quadrupled the number of facilitators from historically marginalized groups.
Grants
Successfully awarded more than $10 million in grant funds.
Designed and supported annual grant programs of $75,000 per year to fund promising classroom practices and educator leadership projects.
Performance Support
Designed, developed, and implemented online performance support for working adults to increase staff and learner efficiency by proactively decreasing learner questions.

Event Management
Organized in-person and online conferences for an organization of 44,000 members using a variety of management tools and designs.
Coordinated weekly technology series and increased viewings of the recorded presentations by 375%.
Instructional Design
Designed, developed, and implemented undergraduate and graduate level courses including a four-part graduate course series - Becoming a Trauma Informed Educator - with more than 1,000 participants.
Developed a course to strengthen teacher–paraeducator teams by clarifying roles, improving communication, and fostering stronger relationships and school communities—ultimately boosting job satisfaction and enhancing school culture and climate.
Consulted for subject matter experts in the creation of onboarding strategies, leadership development, and staff training.
Designed and developed modules, videos, and other instructional tools.
Budgeting
Experience managing operational budgets ranging from $500,000 to $2 million.
Open Educational Resources
Created and led a university Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative, realizing more than $200,000 savings to students in two years.

Created and produced a weekly learning podcast with more than 20,000 streams and downloads in two years.
Staff Training
Created a gamified onboarding experience for new staff that included 20 brief task-oriented learning outcomes.
Focus Groups
Organized and conducted numerous focus groups to inform programs and policies.
Usability
Designed and implemented an LMS usability study focusing on a historically marginalized user population and implemented changes to the LMS based on the results.
Thought Leadership
Delivered 50+ conferences presentations or keynotes; Published 24 articles (11 peer reviewed) and 1 book chapter.
Professional Service
Served on numerous local, state and national policy and practice workgroups including workgroups on social emotional learning, technology, open education, equity, community college program advisory, association finance, instructional standards, event planning, distance learning, and more.
