Our Story
Co-Founder
Andrea Barnum
Andrea's work includes evaluation, project management, adult learning, policy advocacy and implementation, and trauma informed practices. She has worked in education for more than 20 years in classrooms, school districts, and statewide offices. Andrea believes in centering the people closest to the problem when setting goals and seeking solutions. Andrea enjoys immersing herself in nature as a way to nurture a mind/body connection and practice self-care.
Co-Founder
Kim Read
Kim's experience spans innovation, technology, leadership, change management, adult teaching, project management, OER, and instructional design. She has worked in adult learning for 18 years including roles in higher education, professional learning, libraries, and healthcare. Kim believes in a people first approach to create experiences that yield learner success, organizational impact, and strong communities. Kim has a mindfulness practice that grounds her work.
EvolvEd Consulting emerged from our experiences with adult learners who too often found themselves with new knowledge and ideas gained from a learning experience but without a roadmap to apply what they learned in their day-to-day practice. Our successes in transforming adult practices and mindset led to increases in learning, organizational changes, and employee retention, engagement, effectiveness, and overall satisfaction.
EvolvEd is a boutique, independent firm helping our clients overcome the common barrier of moving knowledge into action. We are COBID certified as an Oregon Small Business Enterprise and a Women Business Enterprise. Our name combines the compelling nature of evolution to drive continuous improvement and our belief in the power of learning. With decades of experience in professional learning, higher education, government, libraries, healthcare, and K-12 education, we bring a broad and fresh perspective to non-profit, business, education, and workforce development organizations and initiatives.
